CRONUT CRAZE COMES TO A CRASHING HALT

Dominique Ansel's groundbreaking Cronut® may be old news to most, but I still haven't braved the line at his Spring Street bakery for a taste of the innovative half-croissant, half-donut pastry... and now I may never have the chance.

In a report by Greg Morabito for Eater NY, a YouTube user filmed a mouse scurrying around the bakery's kitchen, which ended up in the hands of the New York Department of Health (DOH). As of yesterday, the bakery has now been shut down for at least 48 hours, and perhaps indefinitely. 

Ansel also recently debuted his chocolate chip Cookie Shot with vanilla milk, and now, sadly, I may never get to indulge in that delightful treat either. Here's hoping the bakery will get a good scrubbing and return to doling out the Cronuts® and Cookie Shots soon!
